Today we continue our new series “Running With The Wolves”
Description for this message on I Peter 4:12-19
The warrior metaphor is used often in the Bible. God Himself is called a warrior by Moses. When Jesus calls people to Himself He calls them to take up their cross daily and follow Him, a metaphor closely related to how the warrior thinks. The warrior is one who is engaged in or experienced in warfare. Christians, the Apostle Paul says, are engaged in a war every day (Ephesians 6:10-20). A person who is aggressive and shows great energy and courage in any field is often called a warrior. As Peter wraps up his teaching on suffering in I Peter 4:12-19 he gives several commands and exhortations which form a warrior’s creed, which is the focus of this FORGE Talk.
