FROM THE DAWGHOUSE…
WORLD LEADERS & EVENTS 2022
The Bible is always relevant in every age, every year, every day, and every minute of every day.
That is because the Bible is the very Word of God. (2 Timothy 3:16-17).
Russia has invaded Ukraine.
Our eyes are focused on the acts of extreme immorality being inflicted on so many people by evil, wicked and immoral leaders in all the countries involved, included leaders in the western world who could have exercised strong leadership to prevent such atrocities from occurring.
We FORGE men pray for the churches and leaders and people in Ukraine as well as for the Spirit of God to put down evil leaders, raise up sanity, and in the midst of war, bring peace.
As I wrote above, the Bible is relevant. In my DAWG today on this last day in February, I’m reading the rest of Proverbs. Look at the plethora of verses on leaders. Ask yourself as you read:
“How are our leaders in the U.S. and the countries involved in this Ukrainian crises implicated by these verses? How should we as leaders following our Lord Jesus Christ seek to lead?
“Evil men do not understand justice, but those who seek the Lord understand all things.” Pr. 28: 5
“When the righteous triumph, there is great glory, but when the wicked rise, men hide themselves.” Pr. 28:12
“Like a roaring lion and a rushing bear is a wicked ruler over a poor people. A leader who is a great oppressor lacks understanding, but he who hates unjust gain will prolong his days. A man who is laden with the guilt of human blood will be a fugitive until death; let no one support him.”
Pr. 28:15-17
“An arrogant man stirs up strife, but he who trusts in the Lord will prosper.” Pr. 28:25
“When the wicked rise, men hide themselves; but when they perish, the righteous increase.” Pr. 28:28
“When the righteous increase, the people rejoice, but when a wicked man rules, people groan.” Pr. 29:2
“The king gives stability to the land by justice, but a man who takes bribes overthrows it.” Pr. 29:4
“The righteous is concerned for the rights of the poor, the wicked does not understand such concern.” Pr. 29:7
“Men of bloodshed hate the blameless, but the upright are concerned for his life.” Pr. 29:10
“If a ruler pays attention to falsehood, all his ministers become wicked.” Pr. 29:11
“The poor man and the oppressor have this in common; the Lord gives light to the eyes of both. If a king judges the poor with truth, His throne will be established forever.” Pr. 29:13-14
“When the wicked increase, transgression increases; but the righteous will see their fall.” Pr. 29:16
“An angry man stirs up strife, and a hot-tempered man abounds in transgression.” Pr. 29:22
“The fear of a man brings a snare, but he who trusts in the Lord will be exalted. Many seek the ruler’s favor, but justice for man comes from the Lord. An unjust man is abominable to the righteous, and he who is upright in the way is abominable to the wicked.” Pr. 29:25-27
Sovereign Lord Jesus Christ! We praise you that You are the King of Heaven and earth. Your Kingdom will never end; Your reign is Supreme. We pray that Your good rule will be established on earth as it is in Heaven. Come Lord Jesus to establish justice and peace forever. As we anticipate Your Coming, we ask for the unrighteous leaders to be brought to repentance at Your feet, to conversion to Your rule, or to be brought to destruction and the end of their crimes. Our hearts long for good leaders and we ask that you would raise up those leaders worldwide. Help us as Your men to lead well in our spheres of influence and to fight the good fight of faith until you come again, being not concerned for our welfare but for the welfare of others. As Your servants we pray these things in Your Strong and Holy Name, Amen.
Strength and Courage brothers,
Pete Alwinson
