From The DAWGHOUSE | Short & Sweet

FROM THE DAWGHOUSE…

Sometimes your early morning input from the Father is short and sweet, so don’t look for the long and complicated.

There are times when you won’t have a big take away from your DAWG.  You just read a passage and a stark truth hits you straight on that seems pretty important.  Like this that hit me today:

“For all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ.  There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free man, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.  And if you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s descendants, heirs according to promise.”

Galatians 3:27-29

Here’s my takeaway that gives me perspective today…
Christians who focus on their particular ethnicity more than their identity in Jesus have missed one of the great realities of the Gospel:

Ethnicity no longer matters.  Identity in Jesus is the big freeing deal.

Native born in the land of the fruits and nuts, Southern California, my ethnicity consists of 42% England & Northwestern Europe, 24% Spain and 10 other regions. 10 other regions?  Gotta be kidding. I’ve got a dash of Irish, a smidgeon of Andean, about the same of Nigerian.  In short I’m a 100% blend.  Ok mutt, if you speak the male love language of shame and abuse.

Big point: Christians who focus on their particular ethnicity more than their identity in Jesus have missed one of the great realities of the Gospel: Ethnicity no longer matters. Identity in Jesus is the big freeing deal.

Go back and read the passage above again.
What truth rattled your cage today?
